April 10, 2022
The Tomchik lab spent April 6-10, 2022 exchanging scientific information at the Genetics Society of America's 63rd Annual Drosophila Research Conference. Held in San Diego, this conference features the latest research in genetics, neuroscience, and more, with labs that utilize fly models. Aaron, Val, Connor, and Seth attended, sharing the latest results from the lab in two talks and a poster presentation.
Aaron Stahl presented a talk on the mechanisms of compartmentalized presynaptic plasticity in learning
Val Botero gave a talk on the effects of NF1 on metabolism
Connor Broyles presented a poster on how loss of NF1 affects gene transcription
Rounding out the meeting, we had a lab dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego and explored the new Rady Shell at Jacobs Park
We thank the meeting organizers for bringing together a fantastic program and the Genetics Society of America for sponsoring the always-excellent conference.
